This is an executive summary of revisions made to a new version of the codeset.

This will be provided as an addition to full codeset release.

Definitions
Initially, definitions will be provided based on the information provided at the time a code change request is entered. Over time, the definitions will be modified and enhanced to provide further clarity.

Attributes (ability to define selected “lead” attributes)
The strength of the code lies in the strength of its commodities. Because of that, it is critical that we clearly differentiate each commodity. To do this, more information about the Commodity may be necessary, specifically the “lead” or most important attributes that describe it and differentiate it from other, similar Commodities. Note, however, that UNSPSC does not intend to develop all attributes for any one commodity nor does it intend to develop “lead” attributes for all commodities.
