The UNSPSC is currently working with the Coalition for Healthcare eStandards (CHeS) to promote codeset adoption and use by Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO's), manufacturers, distributors and healthcare providers. CHeS promotes the use of open data exchange standards in the Healthcare Industry.
IDEA, a joint enterprise of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) has completed a Segment Revision project updating and expanding the UNSPSC Segments related to the electrical products industry. A group of more than 50 participants including manufacturers, distributors, and trade organizations representing the electrical industry developed and provided information improving and expanding these UNSPSC Segments. The UNSPSC community extends its appreciation to IDEA and its Members for this contribution to the codeset.
